SMI Capital Reduction

On 18 November 2015 the High Court of Ireland approved our plans to reduce the amount of excess capital held in SMI via a process called a ‘capital reduction’. No changes were made to policies and there was no change to the existing policy benefits or reasonable expectations of future benefits. Benefit payments and commission payments will be paid as and when they are due in the same way as before.
